DELF EXAMS

You can make the most of your stay at the Summer University in Boulogne-sur-Mer by taking the DELF exam, which generally takes place at the end of the course and is offered as an option.

The DELF - Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française – is issued by the French Éducation Nationale and is recognized the world over. This diploma certifies French-language skills according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

During its summer language stays, the Summer University in Boulogne-sur-Mer organizes DELF certification exams (A2, B1, B2). These diplomas can be very useful for university registrations or for your career.

B1 or B2 diplomas certify an « independent user » level of French. Institutions, companies and, above all, French universities, may require foreign students to have this certification in order to register for courses (each university has its own requirements but, generally, B1 is the minimum level required).

DELF exams are offered as an option for those interested and who are registered in our language courses. Two exam sessions are offered : in July and in August, during the last week of the course.

The intensive courses offered by the Summer University allow students to prepare for the various DELF exams. More specifically, in the B1 and B2 level groups, the programme’s content is based on the DELF exams and thus provides an intensive preparation for those interested. These diverse and dynamic courses, taught in small groups (08-15 maximum) by qualified teachers, will also satisfy those who don’t plan to take a DELF exam.

DELF exams dates :

• July: exams only for levels A2 ; B1 ; B2 from Monday, 23/07/2012 to Thursday, 26/07/2012.
  The exact dates for each level will be announced at the beginning of the course.
• August: exams only for levels A2 ; B1 ; B2 from Monday, 06/08/2012 to Thursday, 09/08/2012.
  The exact dates for each level will be announced at the beginning of the course.

Fees

Registration fees, according to certificate level :

• DELF A2 : 60 €
• DELF B1 : 60 €
• DELF B2 : 60 €

Information for those who wish to register for a DELF exam without registering in the Summer University in Boulogne-sur-Mer programme.
The Summer University may accept the registration of participants not registered in its language programme. . Please contact the Summer University in Boulogne-sur-Mer so we may register your request and, upon confirmation, proceed with your exam registration.

An introduction to DELF / DALF certification

The DELF – Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française – and the DALF – Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française – are organised by the French government and provide the standard, official, internationally-recognised qualification in French in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

The new DELF/DALF diplomas are :

• DELF A1 (Elementary user, breakthrough level)
• DELF A2 (Elementary user, waystage level)
• DELF B1 (Independent user, threshold level)
• DELF B2 (Independent user, vantage level)
• DALF C1 (Experienced user, effective operational proficiency level)
• DALF C2 (Experienced user, mastery level)

Each diploma corresponds to an independent examination, composed of several papers. Once obtained, the diploma is acquired for life. The different DELF/DALF diplomas can therefore be prepared at various times.
